Some families simply prefer a male teacher — for a son who responds better to a firm, steady routine, for a brother returning to the Quran as an adult, or for a father learning alongside his children. You can request one when you book your free trial class, and we will confirm which male teacher slots are open at your preferred timing before anything is arranged.

Ijazah and formal study

The questions parents ask us first
How we vet a teacher before they teach
A teacher is first tested on recitation and Tajweed by a senior teacher, then interviewed on how they explain rules to a nine-year-old rather than a scholar. We check qualification documents, teaching references and identity. [PLACEHOLDER — confirm background-check documentation.] Nobody is put in front of a student on the strength of a CV alone.
What a one-on-one session actually looks like
A lesson runs 30 or 45 minutes on a video call with the Quran text shared on screen. The teacher hears the student recite, corrects pronunciation letter by letter, sets a small portion to practise, and records what to revise next time. Because nobody else is in the class, a shy child cannot hide at the back and a struggling reader is not rushed past a mistake.
Supervision, parents and recordings
Parents may sit in on any lesson, unannounced, at any point in the course — we consider that healthy rather than intrusive. Lessons are not recorded by default; you are free to record your own child's session on your device. Progress notes are shared with parents so you can see what was covered without needing to watch every class.

- Every teacher is assessed on recitation and Tajweed before teaching, and we review qualifications, teaching references and identity documents. - Can I choose a specific teacher?
- You can request a specific teacher, and we will honour it whenever that teacher has a free slot at your preferred timing. If they are fully booked we say so honestly and offer the nearest matching teacher rather than swapping you without telling you.
- Are sessions recorded for safety?
- Sessions are not recorded by default, as classes run on Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video. Parents are welcome to sit in on any lesson, and you may record your own child's class on your device if that gives you extra reassurance. [PLACEHOLDER — confirm the academy's final recording policy.]
