Online Quran Classes for Kids in Detroit

Metro Detroit, including Dearborn and the surrounding suburbs, is home to one of the longest-established and most visible Muslim communities in the United States, with generations of families who grew up here and a wide range of mosques, schools and community organisations already serving the area well. Our role is a narrow, practical one: private, individual recitation practice that fits around whatever a family is already doing.

Learning the Quran online from Detroit

Lessons are booked in Eastern Time. Because so many Detroit-area families already have evening commitments — sports, tutoring, community events — weekday windows from about 4pm to 8:30pm ET are the most requested, with Saturday and Sunday mornings kept open for students who want a longer Hifz or Tajweed session without competing with a packed weeknight.

Even in a city with deep Islamic educational infrastructure, many children grow up speaking mostly English day to day, so lessons are taught in English with Arabic pronunciation built letter by letter rather than assumed. That means a child from Dearborn and a child from a smaller Michigan town start on equal footing, whatever their family's home language actually is.

We have no premises in Detroit or Dearborn and no locally based teachers — every class is a private video call, offered as a flexible complement to the community education already available across metro Detroit.

Class times and Eastern Time (ET)

Weekday evenings from 4pm to 8:30pm ET are the busiest slots for Detroit-area children, with weekend mornings reserved for longer Hifz revision or Tajweed sessions that need more focused time. See monthly plans or read more about online Quran classes in Michigan.

Courses available to Detroit families

Quran classes for children in Detroit

Children across metro Detroit and Dearborn begin with Noorani Qaida in English, progress into fluent Quran reading with careful Tajweed correction, and can continue onto a structured Hifz plan with steady weekly revision, taught privately rather than in a group setting.

Quran classes for adults in Detroit

Adults in the Detroit area, including parents wanting to strengthen their own recitation and new Muslims starting from the beginning, are taught one-on-one at a pace suited to work and family schedules, with evening and weekend availability.

What one-to-one online classes look like

Every session is one student with one teacher over video call — no group of ten children waiting their turn. Your child recites for most of the lesson while the teacher corrects pronunciation as it happens, letter by letter, in clear English. You keep the same teacher each week, and you receive short notes on what was covered and what needs repeating before the next class. Lessons run on Zoom, Google Meet or WhatsApp video, so a phone, tablet or laptop and a copy of the Qaida or Quran is all you need at home in Detroit.

How the free trial works

  1. 1Send us your preferred days and times in Eastern Time (ET), your child's age and current level.
  2. 2We match you with a suitable teacher and confirm the trial slot, including a female teacher if you prefer one.
  3. 3You join a full one-to-one lesson at no cost and are welcome to sit in and listen.
  4. 4Afterwards we share what we noticed and a suggested plan. If it is not the right fit, nothing continues — there is no card on file.

Detroit parents ask — Frequently Asked Questions

Do you have a physical school in Dearborn or Detroit?
No. We are an online-only academy with no premises anywhere, including metro Detroit. Every lesson happens over video call so families anywhere in the area have equal access.
Can private lessons work alongside a local Islamic school we already attend?
Yes. Many Detroit-area families use short private lessons midweek for focused, individual recitation practice while continuing at their existing mosque or Islamic school.
What time zone is used for scheduling?
Eastern Time. You choose a fixed weekly slot in ET and it holds at the same local clock time year-round.
Are female teachers available for our daughter?
Yes. Female teachers can be requested for daughters or adult women, and this can be arranged before your free trial lesson.
