Why London families start with a free lesson
London has more madrasahs than almost any city in Europe, and London parents still struggle, because the constraint here is the evening itself. A parent getting home to Newham or Croydon at 6:40pm cannot also deliver a child to a 6pm class across the borough. The trial is one teacher, one child, roughly thirty minutes. Your child recites; the teacher stops them the moment a letter or a harakah is wrong and has them repeat it correctly. There is no group to keep pace with and nothing gets marked at the end instead of fixed in the moment.
Because London children are overwhelmingly English-first, all explanation happens in English while Arabic is taught sound by sound. That combination is what stops a child sitting quietly in a class they cannot follow — a familiar story in mixed-ability mosque groups.

- My child already goes to a mosque madrasah. Would this clash?
- It usually complements it. We book around your existing madrasah nights, and parents most often use the private lesson for the thing a large class cannot give: individual correction on pronunciation.
- How late in the evening can a lesson be?
- Slots run up to about 8:30pm UK time for children, which covers most London commutes. If your evenings are genuinely unpredictable, weekend mornings tend to be the more reliable choice.
- Is the teaching suitable for a child who speaks only English?
- Yes — that is the majority of our London students. The teacher explains in English and never assumes the child understands Arabic beyond what they are being taught to read.
- How do I book?
