Why Minneapolis families start with a free lesson
Memorisation in the Twin Cities usually runs into the winter. A student building pages through the autumn at a Cedar-Riverside or Bloomington programme loses weeks to closures and cold in January, and returns to find the older juz has slipped. The free trial exists so you can see whether a daily one-to-one structure holds where a weekend one does not.
In the trial the teacher asks the student to recite something already memorised and listens for the two things that decide whether Hifz survives: accuracy of the text and stability of pronunciation while recalling. You then get a direct answer — add new lines, or stabilise what is there first.
Real memorisation runs three tracks at once: new work, recent revision and old revision. A group class rarely manages all three, which is how a student ends up with twenty shaky pages instead of eight solid ones. One-to-one, the teacher holds the whole map for your child specifically.
There is no Minneapolis hall to reach. Lessons are private video classes, which is the only realistic way to keep four or five short sessions a week through a Minnesota winter.
What makes the class different
- A revision plan, not just new linesSabaq, sabqi and manzil are scheduled together, sized to the days you can actually commit — so earlier memorisation does not quietly fall away.
- A slot you choosePick the day and time that fits your week. If something clashes later, we move the lesson instead of writing it off.
- Male or female teachersSay which you would prefer when booking. Both are available at the same rates and the same times.
- Truly one-to-oneOne teacher, one student, the whole lesson. Mistakes are corrected as they happen instead of going unnoticed in a group of twenty.
Class times in Central Time (CT)
Hifz slots are booked in Central Time, and most students take four or five short lessons a week rather than two long ones, because memorisation depends on frequency. Early mornings before school and 5pm to 8pm CT are the usual choices, with Ramadan set separately. See monthly plans for what happens after the trial.

Questions before you book
- How many lines a day should my child memorise?
- It depends entirely on what they already hold and how stable it is. The teacher sets a target after the trial, and revision is counted as part of the daily load rather than added on top.
- My child memorised several juz and has lost some. Is it recoverable?
- Usually yes, and faster than the first time. The teacher maps what is still solid and rebuilds the weak parts before adding new material.
- Can a Hifz student also work on Tajweed?
- They should. Pronunciation faults get memorised along with the text, so the teacher corrects them as part of the memorisation lesson rather than leaving them for later.
- How do I book?
- Send us your details through the form on this page or message us on WhatsApp. We reply with two or three available slots and confirm one with you.
- What time zone are Minneapolis lessons scheduled in?
- Central Time (CT). You give us the times that work on your own clock and we match a teacher to them, including any daylight-saving changes.
- What do we need for the class?
- A phone, tablet or laptop, a reasonable internet connection and a copy of the Quran or Qaida. Nothing else needs to be bought or installed beyond a video app.
